So, the assignment I started this morning was sadly ended after 1 hour because the woman I was replacing decided not to quit after all. The poor manager apologized profusely and gave me a ride to the MAX. I gave her my card and invited her to ask for me if she needs vacation coverage. She paid me for a half-day instead of the 1 hour I worked.

Then I took the bus over to Express Personnel, where Leslee (love her) turned out to have another assignment that she thought would fit me very well. :D So on Monday I start an assignment with an insurance company in Beaverton doing admin ("production assistant") that could conceivably turn into an insurance underwriting position with enough time. Leslee had found out about this job after she'd already assigned me to the first one, so it was a bit serendipitous that I became available. This one is $12/hr instead of $10.
